White Turf, A Winter Horse Racing Fairytale In St.Moritz

The White Turf is an international horse racing event held in the Canton of Graubünden, Switzerland. Since 1907, this event, which occurs every February, turns the frozen Lake St. Moritz into a huge spectacle on ice.

Horse owners, celebrities, and café society representatives take part in this festival, where jockeys and participants compete in galloping, cantering, skijoring, and two-wheeled, horse-drawn sulkies. Individuals that are competing in this year’s event will be pleasantly surprised to hear that the prize is worth 500,000 CHF.

The Longines Grand Prix of St. Moritz, which is organized as the European championship on snow, is the most richly endowed race of Switzerland, with a prize worth 111,111 CHF.

BMW and Credit Suisse are also known to be closely associated with this unique event, developing their customer relations. The winner of the Grand Prix BMW receives a prize of 25,000 CHF.

The White Turf is part of an international network of well-known race courses that include the Mauritius, the Berlin-Hoppegarten, the Wrocław race course, and the Türkiye Jokey Kulübü from Istanbul.

Apart from this being the crème de la crème event, attendees will be able to relax at luxurious hotels, spas, and hammams (Turkish baths). Attendees will also have the opportunity to enjoy skiing, as well as taking a romantic horse-drawn carriage ride over the frozen lake or through the fabulous Staz Forest.

This year, the organization committee expects more than 35,000 visitors on the ice during the three weeks this event is held in February (3rd, 10th, and the 17th). While this event will be filled with much delight, more excitement will be given to the skijoring teams and the Formula One car on the race track, In short, you do not want to miss this event.
