If you got tired of city-noise and look forward to have a new experience, why not to condiser a weekend stay in the heat of Swiss Alps… under ground? Villa Vals is located on a mountainside in the Swiss village of Vals in the canton of Graubunden. It is close to the famous Therme 7123 resort.

The Villa Vals was designed by Bjarne Matenbroek and Christian Müller. Their project plan was to perform a complete integration of a villa into alpine landscape. The goal was – not to disturb the untouched nature.

The access to the villa is only possible through the nearby Graubünder wooden canopy passing, an underground tunnel throughout the mountain. The facade of the house is slightly sloping, reflecting to the view of mountain landscapes across the valley opposite the house.

The house, which was completed in 2009, was built and presented in collaboration with a large number of Dutch designers. The spacious interior is an eclectic but balanced combination of contemporary design. A unique combination of architecture, interior and style.
