International Exhibition of Inventions, New Techniques and Products

25-29 March 2020

The International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva is one of the major events in the field of inventions and innovations. It is held under the Swiss Federal Government, the State, the City of Geneva and of the World Intellectual Property Organization.

In 2020, about 1000 new products will be introduced by 700 exhibitors from over 45 countries. Industrial and commercial companies, universities, inventors and researchers will present  the results of their research in such areas like Environmental Protection, Computer Sciences, Electricity, Electronics, Building, Safety and Security Equipment, Medicine and Agriculture.

Electron Festival

23 April – 3 May

Electron Festival is a music and visual art festival being held across Geneva since 2004. It’s one of the major European electronic festivals on which every year lots of fans of electronic music, famous DJ’s, performers, designers, and visual artists gather together. They’re united by dance, digital technology and the most diverse electronic music including House, Techno, Drum & Bass, Dubstep, Bass, and even Orchestral Electro. This unique festival offers dozens of parties, films, lectures, live performances, DJ sets, dance shows, art installations, workshops, and conferences.

Watches & Wonders Geneva

26-29 April 2020

One of the most world-famous trade shows in the watch industry, the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie, will be held for the 30th time in April in Geneva. From this year onwards, it will be called Watches & Wonders Geneva and consist of Watches & Wonders-The Salon and Watches & Wonders-In the City.

More than 30 world’s watch maisons will give exclusive previews of their new collections to professionals, journalists and watch enthusiasts.

“In the City” will take place throughout the city of Geneva and include city walking tours, exhibitions, museum and factory visits, boutique presentations, lectures, practical workshops, and child-focused activities. These will be completely free and open to the public.

Bol d’Or Mirabaud

Regatta

12-14 June 2020

One of the most popular events in Geneva is the Bol d’Or Mirabaud regatta held annually in June. Organized for the first time in 1939, today, it’s Europe’s largest sailing regatta in enclosed waters and sees.

Each year, more than 500 boats and yachts take part in this sailing race on Lake Geneva. Dozens of professional teams come from all over Europe to compete along 123 km route from Geneva to Le Bouveret and back. Lots of adults, families with children and youth come together along the shores of Geneva lake to cheer on the competing sailing teams while enjoying barbecues and picnics.

Fête de l’Escalade

12-13 December 2020

Fête de l’Escalade or L’Escalade is one of Geneva’s top family-friendly festivals celebrated every year. It’s dedicated to the heroic victory of the Genevans over the Duke of Savoy’s invading troops in 1602.

“The Escalade race”, a 5-mile race through the streets of Old Town, opens festival. The grand parade on Sunday consisting of around 1000 locals dressed in period costumes passing through the city culminates it.
