Ticino is the fourth largest winegrowing canton in Switzerland. Vineyards from this Italian-speaking canton have been planting grapes since the days of the Roman Empire. Because of the sunny weather and rain, Ticino is well known for its Merlot grapes, with most of the 1,000 hectares consisting of this particular grape. Other grape varieties include Bondola, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carminoir, Gamaret, Garanoir, Diolinoir, Ancellotta, Chasselas, Chardonnay, Doral, Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Kerner, and Muller-Thurgau.

Let’s have a look at five exclusive wineries in Ticino.
