A 75-year-old resident of La Chaux-de-Fonds (Neuchâtel) was fined for CHF 200 for throwing cardboard package into a paper waste container. Apparently there was his home address printed on the box so a case of violation was detected.

Due to the pensioner was unable to cover CHF 200 and the Justice Department of the canton of Neuchâtel raised the amount to CHF 260.

“I do not know how to pay it. This is too much. The fine was even higher than the ones that usually prescribed for drivers who do not miss pedestrians at a crossing. But I did not put life in danger and did not throw garbage in the forest “,  the man said.
