Geneva Lux Festival Sparkles In December
Since 2014, Geneva holds Geneva Lux light festival. During the event waterfront and laneways turn into a captivating celebration of art, technology and design.
Geneva Lux Festival is a free public event. It was first held in 2014 following the initiative of the Mayor of Geneva city and the Department of Urban Environment and Security. Since then, in December Geneva’s monuments and buildings become a canvas for spectacular light and video projections.

During Geneva Lux both Swiss and foreign artists present their light installations throughout the city. Students of the Haute Ecole d’Art et de Design are taking part in event.
‘Works of light’ along with the traditional Christmas decorations turn the center of Geneva into one fabulous enchanting vibe. Main locations are Jardin Anglais; Rue de Rhône; Place Bel-Air; Place Longemalle; Ile Rousseau; Rue de Mont-Blanc; and Place Simon Goulard.
By the way, every time, there is something new in the programs. For example, this year the number of light installations is increased for six more – up to 25. Geneva Lux unites numerous private partners and the City of Geneva Contemporary Art Fund.
