Early Works Of Picasso Will Be Displayed In Basel

The Beyeler Fondation is one of the most renowned modern and contemporary art museums in Switzerland. After four years of preparation, it displays works of Pablo Picasso at the exhibition “The young Picasso – Blue and Rose Periods”.

The museum shows Pablo Picasso’s works between 1901 and 1906, the most beautiful examples of impressionism. The exhibition “The young Picasso – Blue and Rose Periods” is aimed to spotlight a key period in Picasso’s artistic career.

Around 80 paintings and sculptures owned by Musée National Picasso in Paris, Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, Tate Gallery in London, National Gallery in Washington, D. C., Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow; Reina Sofìa National Art Center in Madrid, Art Gallery of Ontario in Toronto and many others are shown here. This exhibition is the first large-scale collaboration among such a great number of world galleries.

Some of outstanding Picasso’s works from private collections are also presented on public for the first time. The Fondation Beyeler owns more than 30 Picasso’s works. Undoubtedly, Picasso’s exhibition in Basel is one of the cultural highlights in Europe in 2019.
