Vaud is a French-speaking canton and the third biggest one in Switzerland.
It 
borders with five cantons  GenevaNeuchâtelFribourgBern and ValaisMain cities of Vaud are Nyon, Lausanne, Montreux.

The canton of Vaud hosts the biggest number of international sporting organisations including the International Olympic Committe situated in Lausanne. Vaud is also one of the biggest wine-producing cantons in Switzerland. It keeps winemaking traditions since the Roman Empire. Mostly the grapes are grown in the picturesque area of Lavaux, 830 ha of terraced vineyards protected by the UNESCO.
